Roofs

Having gained a lengthy apprenticeship on British roofs, where the pitch is like a ski slope and there's only battens to walk on it's become a pleasure to work on French ones. With slopes just a little of level and "volige" roof planking, they're a dream to work on. That said the canal type tile is a very different tile than the mechanical types predominant in the UK. The other addition that needs to be kept in mind here in France is the "genoise" this is where tiles are cantilevered to bring the tile edge away from the house wall. They canbe a mixture of canal and flat tile and can be anything up top seven layers. They are a skill to do but when done properly add so much to the look of a house.
